Last Post Before the Break

 Hello Room 15 families!

This may be the last post before the break, but it is still full of lots of important information (and some of what the students worked on last week) so be sure to read to the end.

Homework- Homework for this week/the first week back has been posted. I would like to emphasize that this is NOT homework for the break. It is intended to be for this week and/or the first week back at school (no homework will be posted on January 2nd), depending on how you can best fit it into your schedule. The break should be spent having fun with family, making memories, and not stressing about schoolwork. Read with your children, make it a family bonding time, to maintain reading throughout the year.

Social Studies/Art- Our class did a guided drawing of a lighthouse on a cliff, and then painted it. The paintings showed the geography, economy, and natural resources of Meteghan. Ask your child what details they included to show those features in their art!

Writing- Students finished our unit on walking stories (stories that describe things and events) and shared some of their work with their classmates

I can't wait to have fun this coming week! We will be sharing magnet projects, finishing our Meteghan culture unit in Social Studies, incorporating winter activities into math, carolling, doing art, and enjoying our final week together before the break.
